Rumor Has It
On Valentine’s Day 2017, the German Shepherd breed made history was made for the second time in New York City at the Westminster Dog Show when Rumor, Officially named “Rumor Has It V Kenlyn” (a German Shepherd Dog) won Best in Show. The dog’s handler was Kent Boyles and the presiding judge was Tom Bradley III.
This was the 141st Westminster canine competition. There were nearly 2800 dogs entered in the competition which spanned the 202 eligible breeds and varieties. I particularly like this show because it is on live television before a worldwide audience. It gives a place to showcase the traits and attributes of a breed in front of millions of people who are able to listen to noted authorities discuss the breeds’ special traits and attributes. A win at this competition is very grand indeed!
Rumor represented the breed superbly and she has joined the Manhattan “Hatter” as the only other German Shepherd Dog to go Best in Showwhich hasn’t happened since 1987. Bravo!!!
Congratulations go out to Kent Boyles and Pamela McElheney, the breeders, and to her owners: Deborah Stern, Pam Buckles, Patti Dukeman, Pamela McElheney & Kent Boyles.
